Rate Hierarchy

EQ has a hierarchy of rates.

The order of priority is:

  • Shop Rate
  • Scheme Rate
  • Insurance/Customer Rate

SHOP RATES

When EQ is originally set up, a shop charge out rate is entered. This will be the default price for all work types, that you will charge the majority of your customers.

SCHEME RATES

You may now create "Schemes." "Schemes" are rates that are, (price wise,) higher or lower than the Shop Rate and specific to certain groups of insurance companies. For example, you may have one set of rates different from your Shop Rates set up as a "Scheme" for all insurance companies under Suncorp. It initially inherits the Shop rate and from there the rates for individual Item Types can be edited as required for a scheme, and will take precedence over the shop rate for that chosen group.

Insurance/Customer Rate

(Right click image and open in new tab to view full size)

If a rate for an Item Type is edited at the insurance company or customer level, it will take precedence over the Scheme and Shop rate for that specific customer only. This may be set up for either an individual insurance company out side of any that fall in your "Scheme or Shop Rate" pricing, or an individual customer.

Not all rates need to be changed at the lower level. If only one Item Type rate is different to the rates higher up the hierarchy, only that rate needs to be changed. All other rates will be inherited.
